Who are we…
The Tale Tellers of St. Augustine was formed in 1993 by storytelling enthusiasts.
Since then, our membership has steadily grown to more than 30 people, each of whom contribute to our mission of passing on and enhancing the art of storytelling.
Storytelling’s revival as an artform and social means of communication is well documented. Each year tens of thousands gather at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN. Local storytelling festivals occur throughout the country throughout the year. The values of storytellling as a means of passing on values, social customers, wisdom and traditions from generation to generation are well recognized. Stories touch the heart, stimulate the mind and encourage the spirit to reach beyond the five senses into a deeper realm of understanding and enjoyment.
